Need A Social Media Tune Up? Here’s 4 Tips To Make Sure Your Socials Are On Track

It’s no secret that social media has become one of the GREATEST (and I say that word seriously in caps) influences in shaping a small, medium or even large biz.

It can impact how you build your audience and whilst setting up all your social media profiles deserves some big digi-marketing claps as this will help you reach a larger proportion of that audience (*hold for applause...) there may still be some things you will need to tune up in order to be operating at your best and most effective.

Why, you ask? Well it’s busy in content marketing land, lovely reader.

In these competitive times, simply having a social media page isn’t enough to really give your online presence that extra spark. Rather, audiences respond to well researched, focused strategies oozing with authenticity. Once you have those in your corner the engagement and future conversions will follow.

So to help you get on the right path and create some business success, here are 4 tips to help you do this. Keep reading below to find out what they are!

  1. Do a social media tune up on your profiles stat!

Time to go back to basics - get a good look at all of your social media profiles and adjust accordingly. They are the point of digital reference to your biz, your virtual shop front and the place where online first impressions are made - so they deserve some love! Start by making certain that those profile details have been fully completed and are up to date, checking whether or not the imagery that you use and your messaging is super consistent, along with your tone of voice is focused and present. This is an important one because it will build brand awareness and give your business character that your audience will relate to.

2. Sticky beak at what others are doing, but don’t fall into the comparison trap

Now this is a toughie, and if I’m being super honest I’m not 100% a fan of it, BUT I would be lying if I didn’t think it was part of a strong socials tune-up.

One of the BEST ways to see how you stack up in the social media world is to compare your page to others in your industry.

See what they’re trying, find inspiration and those all-important insights into how you could emulate similar techniques into your biz in a way that works well for you.

But make sure that you’re not getting too bulked down in a them vs you mentality and flat out replicating what they’re doing.

This might feel a lil’ bit tempting but it doesn’t guarantee success or give you a proper understanding of how YOU can nail your content strategy.

Another piece of advice is to look at other industries and analyze what they’re up to and why.

Looking outside your industry can help you to think outside the box and find some great ways to really stand out and differentiate your brand to those around you!

3. Follow up on your progress

Consistency is key, and your social media page will thank you for incorporating it in the long run. But to guarantee that you are consistent and that what you're doing is working like a charm, you’ll need to be consistent with checking on progress (I know there’s consistency everywhere, I see it too!)

Ask yourself questions like:

  • how many followers do you have?

  • how frequently are you posting?

  • are your posts engaging your audience?

Asking these questions and utilising the feedback to improve, along with the consistency bit will help you grow even further as a marketer and business owner.

    4. The fun part: some effective marketing for your business needs
